A Closer Look At The Design
SGC has masterfully crafted a wearable, weathered replica of the renowned Astromech droid from a pair of Air Jordan 1 sneakers. The shoes feature R2D2’s iconic colour scheme across the upper with white on the base, blue at the collar, silver on the overlays, and black Swooshes and inner lining. The design also includes hand-painted details of the character’s intricate panelling and various gadgets to round out the look, as well as rusting details to give the shoes a distressed and battle-worn appearance.
What We Like About The Sneakers
As you can see, SGC worked very hard to capture the R2D2 design on these sneakers. However, the distinctive weathering on the design is what truly enhances the shoe’s feel. Without the added detail, they wouldn’t look nearly as awesome.
