A Closer Look At The Design
The shapeshifting mutant is shown changing into two of the most admired X-Men characters in this awesome Air Jordan 1 “Mystique” design. In order to depict this transition, Javier placed the blue mutant in her natural state on the lateral side of both shoes, with the powerful Magneto on the medial side of the left foot and the fierce Wolverine on the medial side of the right. Other noteworthy features on these kicks include the large X-Men logo lace dubraes, the merged name plates on the tongue tags, and the faces of the characters painted onto their respective heels. Each sneaker is then completed with a red rubber outsole and white midsole, which go well with Mystiques’ distinct colour palette.
What We Like About The Sneaker
We can genuinely admire the amount of consideration and care that went into creating these “Mystique” themed sneakers. Along with honouring her iconic appearance, the artist has deftly uses her signature ability to enhance the design and throws in two more X-Men legends for good measure. This is easily one of our favourite painted custom sneakers from 2024.
