A Closer Look At The Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 “Chicago”
Artist Julian V.L. Gaines, better known on Instagram as Ju Working On Projects, has given fans a sneak peek at the future “Chicago” release. His past work with Nike and Jordan Brand appears to have given Gaines a chance to get his hands on an early batch of these eagerly awaited sneakers.
Based on the images shared, the “Chicago” release appears to be the most faithful retro yet. The pair will feature the same shape, updated Swooshes, and smaller Wings insignia that have become standard for the Hi ’85 range, as well as the iconic red, white, and black colour blocking we know and love.
What We Like About The Sneakers
The ‘Chicago’ colourway holds a rich and significant history in the Air Jordan 1 lineup. Despite its numerous retros and collaborations, the prospect of owning a pair that stays true to the original release is a nostalgic thrill for any sneaker enthusiast.
Release Details
Rumours vary on the release date of the sneakers, with some predicting a release as soon as fall 2025 through Nike SNKRS and select stores. However, insider @mrunloved1s says these kicks won’t be available anytime soon. Considering Jordan Brand’s stacked lineup for 2025, it would seem more plausible for this pair to drop in 2026 or 2027.
