Carmen Gee is a South African writer covering skate culture and sneaker news for Sneaker Fortress & 23 Jumpman Street, with a background spanning entertainment journalism, events, and lifestyle content. Raised in East London, she got her start writing for blunt South Africa, covering the alt and skate scenes in her hometown, and has since written for Texx and the City, South Africa's independent music and culture outlet, covering festivals and events including Splashy Fen and the SA International Tattoo Convention. A lifelong skater, she splits her rotation between Nike SBs, Converse CONS, and Vans Half Cabs — writing from the deck up, not just the sidelines. Carmen has also worked in travel and lifestyle copywriting, published short fiction, and is currently working toward her first novel.
