Jordan Brand is really leaning into the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 6. Next year’s lineup is already shaping up to be a sneakerhead’s headache in the best way possible, with pairs like the long-rumoured “Bin 23” and the nostalgic “Reverse Infrared” on the calendar. And now, joining the celebrations is a dressed-up Air Jordan 6 “Cap & Gown”.
If you’ve been around the Jordan game for a while, the “Cap & Gown” name should ring a bell. Back in 2018, the Air Jordan 11 arrived in a slick, all-black colourway that was specifically designed to look right at home at formal events. Michael Jordan and Tinker Hatfield had originally envisioned the 11 as a shoe that could handle both the court and a black-tie gala, and the “Cap & Gown” execution made that dream literal.

The Air Jordan 6 “Cap & Gown” is taking that same ideas and giving it a 2026 remix. While Nike hasn’t shown official photos yet, insiders like zSneakerHeadz and SneakerFiles have already dropped details. Expect a triple-black palette listed as “Black/Multi-Colour/Multi-Colour.” Reflective piping along the panels give off a vibe similar to the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Reimagined” that hit shelves in February 2025.
Of course, Jordan Brand is keeping most of the material details hidden for now. The 2018 Jordan 11 “Cap & Gown” leaned on premium touches to make it stand out from regular releases, so there’s a good chance this AJ6 will follow the same playbook. Considering this is part of the anniversary rollout, don’t expect anything less than fancy.
