A Closer Look At The Design
Let’s start off with the upper. The top half of the shoe spotlights a tattered green bandana fabric, artfully torn and pulled apart to reveal a cream-colored canvas material underneath. This same canvas fabric also features on the toe and heel sections of the shoe, but here the green bandana print serves as the patchwork accent. However, if you look closely, you’ll find the “Sashiko” touch through white decorative reinforcement stitching featured across these torn areas.
From there, the heel tabs reveal strategic rips that unveil kanji characters for “Boro” and “Sashiko” embroidered in yellow underneath.
Complementary yellow highlights on the tongue, branding, eyelets, and midsole finish off the upper’s design. All of this sits atop a white and gray sole unit.
What We Like About The Sneakers
The “Sashiko” stitch work and distressed details add loads of character to this design. But if we have to single out just one thing, we have to emphasise the torn heel tabs that open up to reveal the branding beneath. It fits in so well with the overall theme. Still, there’s nothing about this pair that we don’t like.
Is The Air Jordan 3 “Sashiko” Available For Purchase?
Unfortunately, this custom pair is a one-of-one gem created for a client. However, you can try commissioning a similar design through the Savoir-Faire Paris team. Prices for their custom work starts at approximately $1,300.18 USD but can increase.
