A Closer Look at the Sneaker Design
In this sneaker diorama, the Beatles share the spotlight with another iconic British band from the ’60s: Pink Floyd. But while we can certainly appreciate the talents of both of these rock and roll legends, let’s focus on The Beatle’s side this time around.
The sneaker showcases a retro-themed “wall” mural complete with 3D foam “bricks” and graffiti-style tributes to The Beatles’ famous tracks. The heel features “Yellow Submarine” with psychedelic colours that spread across the upper.
Above the yellow submarine, purple strawberries on the ankle flap and collar hint at “Strawberry Fields Forever”, while pink diamonds on the medial side nod to “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”
The shoe’s lateral side also features a “Penny Lane” sign and a Beatles poster. However, the unmistakable highlight of this design is the homage to the Abbey Road album cover, which sees The Beatles now walking across the shoe’s side. Plus, there is also an illusion of the iconic zebra crossing extending off the shoe.
What We Like About the Sneakers
These sneakers are not for wearing but are a unique and imaginative tribute to The Beatles. The attention to detail, especially the 3D foam “bricks” and the illusion of the zebra crossing, makes these sneakers masterpieces any Beatles fan would love.
