Sneakerheads can now sport an environmentally friendly spin on the denim sneaker trend with these custom Air Jordan 1 High ‘Boro’ sneakers designed by Joe Allan (@_joeallan) of The Cactus Gentleman.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker
This design abounds in denim colours and textures. However, it all starts with a base of plant leather made from sustainably sourced cacti.
Most of the upper is then wrapped in layers of denim, with the toe, quarter panels, heel, and ankle flap offering a slightly lighter shade of indigo wash, while the eyestays showcase a darker one. The toe box and collar are then adorned with Matsusaka cotton.
One side of the shoe has an asymmetrical design featuring a light wash denim Swoosh, while the other side has a check pattern cut out of the quarter panels that exposes a darker blue fabric underneath. The shoe’s final details are whitemidsole and a grey rubber outsole.
What We Like About The Sneakers
There are many small details that went into making these denim sneakers stand out, including the altered Swoosh design, the use of premium Japanese materials, and plenty of texture and colour play.
