10 Jordans That Deserve Respect (Even If Some People Dislike Them)

It’s 2025. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, whether about life or sneaker styles. That said, there’s some unnecessary hostility towards certain Jordan models that we’d like to put to rest. These are the 10 Jordan sneakers that deserve less judgment and a little more appreciation.

Air Jordan 1 Mid

I’ve heard plenty of negative comments about the quality of the Air Jordan 1 Mid, but the style has evolved quite a bit over the years. Some of the pairs JB is releasing are straight fire. Plus, this cut doesn’t dig into the back of your leg like the highs, the materials are a little more forgiving for wide footers, and the cut looks significantly better on shorter folk. It’s a clear winner.

Jordan purists will say the AJ2/3 is a sneaker monstrosity, but there’s a reason why this model is selling out. We all know that the Jordan 2 upper is already significantly better as a low-top offering, and then JB added the chunky Jordan 3 sole unit below. It’s a vision to behold.

Air Jordan 4 RM

Aside from the Jumpman team’s collaborations with Nigel Sylvester, the Jordan 4RM hasn’t received much attention. But this biking/skating shoe has offered its wearers a sweet selection of colourways and a comfy ride for their feet.

Air Jordan 40

The Jordan 40 silhouette is something we ourselves have mixed feelings about. Although we appreciate several aspects of the design (good cushioning, fantastic traction, and premium materials), it also seems a little bulky, and the colour options aren’t as appealing as those of other Jordan models. The colourway that really convinced us is the upcoming “Chicago” style. Definitely a must-have.

Generally speaking, hybrid sneakers aren’t very popular among Jordanheads, least of all a silhouette with a strap running across the top. That said, this mix of the Jordan 1, Jordan 3 and Nike Air Alpha Force looks right to us. It’s even better in the low-cut style.

Jordan 6 Rings

The Jordan 6 Rings have been around for a long time, and no matter how you feel about the mash-up, they don’t appear to be going anywhere. This design brings together elements from all the championship sneakers MJ wore while winning his six rings. Let’s just say they look even better as winter boots.

Jordan Session

If you like the thick, chunky aesthetic of ’90s/early 2000s skate shoes, then you’ll love the Jordan Session. If not, then this isn’t the model for you. The wavy overlay aesthetic may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely unique.

Jordan MVP 678

The Jordan MVP 678 gets a bad rap just for being a hybrid shoe, but it actually delivers the perfect blend of the AJ6, AJ7, and AJ8 silhouettes (something few other hybrids have been able to do). The sole, tongue, and toe are from the six, the top and heel pull from the seven, and the TPU paint strokes offer just a splash of the eight. It doesn’t hurt that JB has introduced some fire colourways for the model since its debut.

Jordan Spiz’ike Low

The Spiz’ike is arguably one of the most welcomed hybrid sneakers in the Jordan lineup, but even it isn’t without its haters. Truth is, when the high-top was released back in 2006, it was one of the must-have sneakers of the era. We think it looks even better in the new low-top cut.

Jordan Trunner LX

Jordan Brand has just brought back the Trunner LX shoe for women, and plenty of sneakerheads have been spouting off about how unappealing these kicks look. We get it, there’s a lot to take in, but then again, this is a performance-lifestyle-runner-trainer hybrid. There’s so much you can do in this versatile shoe, and they’re coming back in some pretty cool colourways.
