Travis Scott might have just given us a sneak peek at his dirtiest sneaker yet. La Flame unveiled the all-black Jordan Jumpman Jack “Triple Black” at the Virgil Abloh: The Codes exhibition at Le Grand Palais this week, and while the shoe is undeniably slick, it also comes with a reality check: black sneakers attract dust faster than kids chase free Wi-Fi.
On paper, the design is fire. Black mesh base? Check. Black nubuck overlays? Check. Reverse black leather Swoosh and matching laces? Triple check. Even the sole went full noir. It’s Travis leaning hard into the “murdered-out” look. Except the shoe looked less like a fresh-out-the-box flex and more like it had already survived a mosh pit.

Zoomed-in shots of Scott’s pair revealed the problem immediately. Dirt and scuffs were visible across the toe and mesh base, making the sneakers look like they’d lost a fight with a gravel road. Instagram, naturally, had thoughts. One user commented, “Fire but man.. the ash has to be real on these. No way to avoid.” Another cut deeper with, “Did he kick rocks on the way there?” And to be fair, the photos don’t exactly defend Travis. The sneakers looked like they’d been tested for durability mid-strut.
Of course, the dirt issue isn’t a dealbreaker for sneakerheads. Black kicks have always carried this problem. They look pristine for about five minutes before dust and scuffs remind you that the world is basically one giant sneaker enemy. The fix is nothing groundbreaking: sneaker protector sprays and consistent cleaning. If you’re dedicated, keeping them crisp is possible. If not, well, maybe you’ll convince yourself the ash gives them character.

Whether this “Triple Black” will see a retail release is still up in the air. Nike and Travis haven’t dropped any official dates, but given the hype around every one of his projects, from his upcoming first Jordan Jumpman collab this November to his latest Jordan 1 Low with Fragment Design, don’t be surprised if these Jordan Jumpman Jack “Triple Black” sneakers appear on shelves in 2025.
