Released as recently as 2022, this special collaboration between South Africa’s most popular sneaker store and Jordan Brand is special. Not only is it Jordan’s first collab with an African store, but the store went the extra mile to ensure that the sneaker captures the aesthetic of its brand and culture. The off-white suede, the tonal lizard-textured overlay, and the pop of orange color here and there make the sneaker look clean and minimalistic. This makes it pretty easy to match up with any fit. As someone who owns a pair of these, I can vouch for how comfortable they are, too.

It’s not just the colors or Michael Jordan’s signature on the side, either. It’s the whole crumbling and pre-worn look that caught the attention of fans. While I’ve personally never liked pre-yellowed midsoles, this sneaker is incredibly beautiful. This is art.

2024 saw the release of this sleek black, white and gold Women’s Low, which was inspired by nighttime fashion. The black suede on the quarter panels grabs the attention of most sneakerheads, giving the sneaker a more luxurious look in compares to other AJ2 Lows.

These are unisex, as far as I can tell, meaning guys can rock them, too. Personally, this is the type of sneaker I’d wear to the beach. It just has a relaxed vibe to it.

By now, it’s pretty clear to see that Jordan Brand is willing to take risks with the AJ2 Low. They’ve tried various combinations of textures, colors and materials to make every drop feel unique. That’s very evident with the Air Jordan 2 Low “Responsibility”. The grey elephant-print textile and the midsole wrapped in shaggy beige suede is something we haven’t seen on any other drop. A patch on the inside of the sneaker reads: “Jordan presents RESPONSIBILITY wear your shoes show the world where you’ve been. PEACE LOVE RESPECT.”

7. Two 18 x Air Jordan 2 Low
Another sneaker boutique collab, the Two 18 shows love to the Detroit, Michigan store. Crafted with suede and leather, it has what’s been described as a “rocky tan” look – basically different earthy-brown tones. But it’s the cool embossed logo on the tongue that got most fans excited. It’s just such a sophisticated look for a sneaker.
