A Closer Look At The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Tar Heels”
This design is a high-top version of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG PE, exclusively made for UNC student-athletes in 2023. The sneaker’s base showcases smooth white calfskin, complemented by tumbled off-white leather on the collars. Adding a striking contrast, “Carolina Blue” is used for the suede overlays and satin inner lining.
Navy blue accents further elevate the design, prominently featuring on the miniature Check logos at the toe and the caviar embossed leather side Swooshes. For the final distinctive touch, the tongues boast “Carolina Blue” embroidery with the North Carolina Tar Heels logo taking pride of place on the left shoe. The look is completed with a sail midsole and gum rubber outsole, giving it a vintage-esque feel.
What We Like About The Sneakers
Diab’s attention to detail in recreating the 2023 PE design in high-top form is remarkable. This sneaker is imbued with all the same intricate features that made the low-top version a standout college PE last year.
Is The Sneaker Available For Purchase?
