When the first images of the upcoming Jordan Session leaked, sneakerheads had two immediate reactions: grab a pair and grab a crucifix. With a black pony hair upper, a lava-red sole, and, yes, red horns sticking out of the sides, it looked like something that stomped straight out of hell. Add in a style code that literally reads IM6666-066, and suddenly everyone was quoting scripture on X and calling the Jordan Session Satan.
Jordan Brand, though, insists the devil had nothing to do with it. In a statement to Sneaker News, the company said, “The Jordan Session design had nothing to do with Halloween, the devil, satan or anything of the sort. The original concept was anchored on ‘The Year of the Bull’ and the shoe was proposed to be a limited China release. That’s the reason behind the eyes on the tongue, the fur and the horns. There is no Halloween concept.”
Try telling that to the internet. One fan posted, “They stay lying.. the background said it all yesterday.” Another went full Da Vinci Code: “The sku is literally IM6666-066…” Others pointed at the design itself. “The shoe is black, there’s a red goat eye on the tongue, devil horns, yea that’s satans shoe can’t convince me otherwise.”

And to be fair, it’s not hard to see their point. Alongside the horns, the sneaker packs a scale-printed midsole, a silver nose ring with chain accessories dangling from the laces, and embroidered red eyes glaring from the tongue. If this is just a nod to the Chicago Bulls “Raging Bull” nickname, it’s a fiery one.
Nike’s been burned on this topic before. In 2021, Lil Nas X and MSCHF released the infamous “Satan Shoe,” a customized Air Max 97 with a pentagram charm and literal drops of human blood in the midsole. Nike sued, won a restraining order, and settled, all while trying to convince the world they weren’t in the business of dark rituals. With that history, you can see why Jordan Brand is working overtime to push back on demon talk.
So what is the Jordan Session Black/Fire Red/Fire Red supposed to be? Strip away the hysteria and you’ve got a skate-inspired low-top that moves Jordan Brand beyond the hardwood. Versions of the Session have been floating around quietly for months, but this “Black/Fire Red” edition is easily the strangest. Faux pony hair dominates the upper, a fiery graphic wraps the sole, and the horns, well… they’re not going anywhere.

Nike says bull, the internet says goat. Either way, Satan’s Jordan Session is set to drop this October at $125, with more pairs expected to roll out before 2026.
